· TOPIC: PAIN TREATMENT and MANAGEMENT
o Using evidenced-based research, write an academic paper regarding pain treatments (3 pages). It must be supported by current research as described below.
· Part of the grade is the process of uploading the article and the summary. Failure to independently upload the assignment will result in points deducted.
· Submission is accomplished by including the summary and the PDF of the article in 2 separate uploads.
· The report must be in Help write my thesis – APA Style 7th and include:
o Title Page
o Reference page
o Headers
o Help write my thesis – APA page numbering
o Proper in text citations
· Each student will select an article of personal interest regarding pain.
· The original research, peer reviewed article must be at least 5 pages in length and dated after 2017. It can be from any country and any medical subject matter related to pain.
· Submit a summary of the original research article discussion, include:
o Type of research (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods)
o A brief discussion of the methods/participants
o What contribution to medicine the research delivered
o Why this particular article was selected (personal)
· The article summary length is 1 page each article, double-spaced.
· The article must be from a peer reviewed medical journal or reputable site.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this assignment is 2-fold.
1) While reading articles for medical knowledge and understanding, it is important to know if the population studied is related to the population that you care for. You need to know the difference between a scholarly article and a research article.
2) It is important to know the information firsthand. Many nursing journals will give a synthesis of many research articles. Well, have you ever played the telephone game as a kid? (if not google it.) You want to make sure that what they are saying in the article is pertinent to your population and practice.
