For instance, the principle of human dignity informs the common good principle in the provision of education where every individual has a right to education that recognizes and respects their unique abilities and limitations. The common good principle, on the other hand, informs the principle of human dignity in areas such as employment, where individuals have a right to work that provides for their basic needs and enables them to contribute positively to the community.

The CST principles of human dignity and the common good are relevant to key themes or ideas in my course of study, which is Bachelor of Nursing. In the nursing profession, the principle of human dignity is central to the provision of patient-centered care, which recognizes and respects the uniqueness and inherent worth of each patient. The common good principle is also relevant to nursing because it emphasizes the importance of providing equitable and accessible healthcare to all members of society, including vulnerable populations. The nursing profession is founded on a commitment to promoting human dignity and the common good by providing compassionate and competent care to all patients, regardless of their background or circumstances.

The CST principles of preferential option for the poor and promotion of peace are also relevant to key themes in my course of study. The principle of preferential option for the poor asserts that society has a moral obligation to prioritize the needs of the poor and vulnerable in social and economic policies. In nursing, this principle is relevant because nurses often care for individuals who are economically disadvantaged and lack access to healthcare resources. The promotion of peace principle is also relevant to nursing, given the role of healthcare professionals in responding to emergencies and disasters. As caregivers, nurses must promote peace by providing care that promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being and by advocating for social justice policies that address the root causes of conflict and violence.
