Cloud computing is a new information technology system that has shaken up how things are being done in the field of business. This is especially so for small scale business owners who have limited resources at their disposal. They, therefore, need to be upbeat on how they carry out business so as to remain a class above their competitors and at the end of the day achieve competitive advantage.
The implication of adopting cloud computing is that it saves the business time as well as money since business can be transacted online without the need to travel physically so as to carry out the actual transactions. It also improves collaboration since businesses that deal with the same form of business can partner and in the long run exchange vital information that can enable the successful of the business. Also with cloud computing, there is no need to set up a local database for information since information can be easily stored on cloud-based storage facilities.
The information system has been utilised in current business set ups practice by being utilised as an access point of information. This has enabled business communication whereby it is being utilised as a platform to pass on information. Also, a business using this information system technology, are kept abreast with the most current information since it syncs all devices connected to the cloud thus supplying them with the most current information and the same is an update in real time. This technology has revolutionised how business is being done in that one can work remotely with other members of a team so as to collaborate on the delivery of a project. The data can also be accessed from anywhere it doesn’t have to be an office set up.
Based on this analysis, cloud computing is the way to go and in the long run, will shape how business is carried out in the future.
