WRITE a four to six (4-6) page research paper discussing why cultural competence in health care is imperative and should be reflected in the following areas of healthcare:
Health policies
Physician education
Health and human service delivery
Health and medical treatment.
Your paper must include discussion on the impact of structural inequality and exclusion on the individual and community health of marginalized populations and why the development of cultural competence is necessary to heal implicit bias and historical trauma. Incorporate discussion on the role knowledge, of culturally specific health practices, plays in the development of culturally competent and inclusive patient care. You may also discuss your response to the results of your Implicit Association Tests (IATs) and your personal quest for cultural competence.
Your paper should have no less than three(3) scholarly references, appropriately cited (APA) in the body of the paper and on your reference page. Upload your paper in Moodle prior to the last class. Additionally, prepare an accompanying 10 – 15 minute (including Q & A) PowerPoint presentation, to help us better understand your work.
