What did you like best (or what surprised you most) about the guest lecture?
I liked that I learned the data evolution of Heath information technology. Information
technology started on 1960’s but mostly grew in past 10-15 year. In health care the information
technology mostly was used for building, payroll and scheduling. Around 1980’s internet was
developed which triggered grow of technology and development of IT and has being grown
since.

(a)
I learned that there are lots of benefits to transferring from paper medical records to the
electronic medical records. First benefit is that less resources are being misplaces because
mostly record are stored in computers and then they are backed up. Second benefit is that
typed records are easy to read then handwritten document.
I learned that the average
nurse spends 90 minutes a day to find a chart by growing of technology electronic medical
records are accessible for multiple care givers for anywhere within the hospitals.
(b)
I also learned that now every dose that a patient receives arrives in a blister pack or a
plastic bag that bears a bar code. The nurse scans that code, matching it to the code on the
patient’s bracelet. Each nurse has a laptop computer that also keeps track of when patients
should receive their medications and alerts the nurse if a dose has been missed. When the
bar code is scanned, it is automatically documented on the nurse’s computer if it is the cor-
rect drug and dose. If not, a warning is issued.

What did you like best (or what surprised you most) about the guest lecture?
I liked that I learned Dell has a lot of advantages. Dell has both B2B and B2C. Dell
sells directly- online ether with financing or collects money right away. Dell also can order
parts from suppliers on credit. Dell has a fast shipping advantage it can ship the product
second day. All of this is dell innovations and advantages which makes them a good profit.

I learned that B2B (business-to-business) is the exchange of products, services, or in-
formation between businesses rather than between businesses and consumers. For ex-
ample steel company selling to the car company .B2C (

, as opposed to a transaction

companies
(called

). The term may also describe a company that
provides
goods

. For example Dell selling computers to its custom-

I also learned that there are three most important things to insurance buyers. 1) Price 2)
brand 3) service. I learned that price and service is very important because low prices and
good service can bring the company many costumers with satisfaction.
