According to most research, a marriage is a structure with different family members, where each family members as a role to play. Marriage is considered the most importance structure in the society, although sociologists have failed to come up with a clear definition of marriage. Different cultures have different perspective and view concerning marriage Different views and perspectives of marriage are contributed by a number of factors, which are personal, and cultural. For instance division of labour, procreation, sexual gratification, regulation , satisfaction of personal needs, status, and companionship. Over the years, marriage has been a representation of a number of forms, for instance polygamy, monogamy,, polyyamdry, group marriage, and tree marriage. Difference cultures have different perspectives, which has changed over time, for instance the western culture. According to the western culture, marriage is not mainly constructed with regard to procreation’s, and divorce has been normalized . Additionally, same sex marriage has been embraced in the western culture, especially in Netherlands, which is the first country to legalize same sex marriage Other western countries has however embraced the culture of same sex marriage, for instance the united states, France, and Canada.
Cultural norms vary in terms of attitude, beliefs, and values, especially when it comes to gem sex, and various marital roles. Sexual behaviors in marriages are determined by the kind of cultures and society, for instance in Arabic, and mu slim cultures, sex is considered sacred, hence the individuals are considered conservatives, compared to the western society, and Christianity, where sex is permissive, and virginity is not really of mainly considered. In western societies , romantic love is not the primary reason for marriage, or matrimony, compared to the African culture, where love must be closely associated with marriage, where selecting spouses is carefully done. Marrying from the same tribe has been a social pressure in most societies, such as African societies, although some people have embraced civilization. Most people want to marry from the same tribe, for instance the Indians, where a person is not supposed to marry another person from different castes. Endogamy has however been embraced in the western societies, where people can marry people from different tribes, especially where English, and other language has assisted in making communication easier.
Marriage is considered very important, and conducted for a number of reasons, for instance marriage is a relationship based on love. According t Genesis1-28, God gave Adam and eve roles as couples, for instance the couple were meant to love each other, become intimate, and provide companionship for the rest of their lives. Marriage is both a relationship of love and intimacy . where love is the greatest virtue, and intimacy is an expression of love among married people. Marriage is very important , because it creates championship, which help people live longer, through highs, and lows of life because two are better than one. Marriage provide a guilt-free sex, where sex has been revealed to be important, especially in relieving stress, satisfying, and makes a person live a joyous life. On the other hand, marriage is a divine idea that was made by God since the beginning of creation, where God, created man and women for procreation, and other roles based on marriage.
Marriage is also health, and important for the nation , and for the children , where good and strong marriage are considered the foundation of a solid society. On the other hand, marriage is very healthy for children , and acts as a power of unity.
The most Important reasons that a parent would want they children to consider when choosing a person to marry is consider the head and the heart when making the decision. The child should understand that choosing a spouse is a head, and heart matter , where stomach butterflies should not be the only indicator to chose. The reason for the consideration is because marriage is not only based on feelings but also on qualities, such as kindness and compatibility. Connection and compatibility should be another consideration , where getting someone who you can start a conversation easily, and solve matters easily is very important. Additionally, intellectual ability is very important , a laid back person, and an ambitious person should be among the first consideration which assist in makign the marriage last for many years. Havign standards, and wanting the best is another consideration, which should mostly align with families standards to avoid them being off the mark. On the other hand, the person should be trustworthy and honest to lead, and live a happy life.
The decision are based on religious , economic, and social aspects, because marriage is affected by many factors in the society. The bible, and religious values should guide a person in choosing the right person, especially in choosing a prayerful person, or a person who respect God, and choose prayers over witchcraft, and other weird believes that may lead the family into issues. Also, having a respectful, and a good perspective on marriage would assist in building a good marriage instead of having a negative perspective that may make one person disrespect, and neglect the family.
The child should realize there are a lot of fish in the sea, therefore making decision with hesitation would affect the marriage in future. The child should be ready for rejection, heartbreak, and meeting people with different personalities. Taking time is important, especially in getting to choose a person who is compatible, and one with a higher intellectual ability, especially in making business decisions, hardworking and having different ideas of making money for the family. On the other hand, choosing a person who is compatible assist in getting along easily, reducing boredom, and resolving conflicts.
