Career Goals
I expect to learn various skills that promote quality patient outcomes. I look forward to improving nursing competencies such as scientific foundations, leadership, ethics, policy, independent practice, and technology information literacy. I believe improving my competencies will boost patient outcomes. Another expectation is to acquire skills that will enable me to land my dream job. I have always desired to work in a healthcare organization and show compassion to patients.
My strengths include using scientific foundations to make decisions and fostering quality leadership. I always strive to make evidence-based decisions. I have been fostering the strengths after I realized that patients are at risk if healthcare workers do not make decisions based on quality information (Friend, 2019). Conversely, my weaknesses include the application of ethical principles while taking care of patients. The ethical issues challenge my belief system and call for strict action. For example, one of the ethical dilemmas is disclosing confidential information about patients. I strive to improve on the weakness since I know it is critical to healthcare provision.
The career goals that I will accomplish is landing my dream job. Gaining skills is crucial in acquiring the qualifications required in the job market. The career will provide opportunities for networking and experience in my internship (Kim & Suh, 2018). It will help me to gain the skills necessary to land my dream job. For example, Family Nurse Practitioner skills such as ethical decision-making and communication are crucial in boosting my qualification as a nurse job applicant (Kim, 2018). For example, I need to improve skills such as critical thinking and conscientious compassion. The skills are crucial in the job market in taking care of patients and making decisions that will improve patient outcomes.
