Windows 2016 Use of Hyper V
Hyper-V is Microsoft’s hardware virtualization product that lets users create and run software versions of a specific computer called a virtual machine (KBDAzure, 2019). Hyper-V allows users to establish and expand their private cloud environment by providing more flexible and on-demand information technology services (KBDAzure, 2019). Moreover, it also includes increasing shared resources while advocating for the adjustment of utilization as demand change. Furthermore, it ensures that users can utilize their hardware more effectively and efficiently. This functionality is possible by consolidating workloads and servers on fewer but more powerful computers that use less physical space and power.
Scooley (2020) suggests that a VM can expand a network’s functionality by improving business continuity and expanding the virtual desktop infrastructure. Business continuity can be enhanced by minimizing the impact associated with both unscheduled and scheduled downtime of specific workloads. Moreover, KBDAzure (2019) adds that through centralized desktop strategies, VM can allow for the expansion of a network’s functionality by increasing business security and agility and ensuring that regulatory compliance is simplified through the management of desktop applications and operating systems.
Finally, VMs could be used to reduce the cost of purchasing additional computers or computer peripherals. Scooley (2020) explains that this is possible because it allows for the development tests to become more efficient. Hyper-V can reproduce diverse computing environments without maintaining or buying new hardware, but only its physical systems. Moreover, the supported guest operating systems come with customized services and drivers that make it easier to use these operating systems within a Hyper-V virtual machine (KBDAzure, 2019).
