Respond to at least two of your colleagues who chose a different national healthcare issue/stressor than you selected. Explain how their chosen national healthcare issue/stressor may also impact your work setting and what (if anything) is being done to address the national healthcare issue/stressor. A minimum of two current scholarly sources is required.
Health care is important, and the government needs to put a lot of money into it to lower the death rate. But this sector has had problems over the years, making it impossible to reach organizational and national goals. One of these problems is that health care costs have been going up steadily for the past ten years. So, this paper looks at the high cost of health care, how it affects me at work, and what steps the organization has taken to cut costs.

High health care costs are a big problem for the United States, and people think about health care costs when they decide whether or not to get care or buy insurance. These things also made the list of the top financial worries. A lot of people in the community have trouble getting affordable health care (Kearney et al., 2022). Most people haven’t taken any medicine in a while, and dental care is the most important health care for adults. People who are 65 or older have had trouble paying for health care, especially for services that aren’t covered by government insurance. Some of these services are dentistry, hearing aids, and prescription drugs. Most of the time, people can’t fill prescriptions or get critical care because of how much it costs (Alkire, 2022). For example, most low-income households don’t fill prescriptions and skip medical doses that cost a lot to take.

People who have health insurance also have to deal with the high cost of health care. They worry about whether or not they can pay the insurance premium and if the amount is enough to be deducted. Health is an important part of a person’s life, and without it, a person can’t do anything useful for society. Because of this, most people who can’t pay for a certain service with their income end up getting a loan to pay for it.

My workplace is hurt by the high cost of health care. The main goal of health care is to help a lot of people in the United States get medical care. Due to the high cost of the services, fewer and fewer patients are coming in for them. Since there would be fewer patients, my work unit would make less money. After all costs were paid, the organization wouldn’t have much left to put back into the department.

Also, the cost of health care is very high because of how the organization’s systems and equipment work (Watson et al., 2018). They keep changing because technology changes so quickly. But if the organization doesn’t make much money, it can’t afford to put money into new systems instead of old ones. If the organization did this, it would lower the quality of the service it gives.

Still, our organization has put in place steps so that most of its patients have health insurance plans that are paid for by the government. This allows us to keep providing quality services at a lower cost. People who don’t have health insurance are told to get one, especially for services that Medicaid doesn’t pay for (World Economic Forum, 2022). This plan keeps them from having to pay a lot of money out of pocket for health care, which would make their finances unstable and make it hard to pay their other bills. Our organization has also teamed up with other health care companies to buy medical equipment that costs a lot of money and is too expensive for our organization to buy on its own. These share the cost savings, so we can use the machine to provide quality services at a lower cost than other players on the market.

In the United States of America, the high cost of health care is still a problem that needs to be fixed. The high cost of healthcare equipment and medicines is what makes healthcare services so expensive. The government should put a lot of money into research and development to make equipment that is both cheap and effective. It should also give subsidies to pharmaceutical companies that make expensive drugs in order to lower the price of those drugs on the market for the end consumer.
