To Prepare
• Reflect on drugs used to treat asthmatic patients, including long-term control and quick relief treatment options for patients. Think about the impact these drugs might have on patients, including adults and children.
• Consider how you might apply the stepwise approach to address the health needs of a patient in your practice. Consider the medications that are used to treat people who suffer from asthma, including alternatives for long-term control and immediate relief treatment for patients. Consider the possible effects that these medications could have on patients of all ages, including young children.
• When addressing the health concerns of a patient in your practice, give some thought to the ways in which you could use the step-by-step method.
• Consider the role that stepwise management plays in assisting both patients and medical professionals in regaining and retaining control of the disease. By the 7th day of the third week Create a PowerPoint presentation with between 5 and 6 slides that may be used in a staff development meeting to explain several ways of implementing the stepwise approach to asthma therapy. The presentation should be created so that it can be utilized in the meeting.
