My Perception of the Criminal Justice System
1.
From a biblical perspective, my perception is that there is a need to learn about various sub-systems within the criminal justice. Law enforcement is strongly endorsed by biblical doctrines. An example is Romans 13: 8, that states that owe no one anything only for the love of all people as anyone who loves one another fulfills the law (Johnson, 2016). Another example is the extent to which biblical kings relied on officers to maintain law and order effectively. The courts are useful in helping with the adjudication of legal matters to determine criminality.
In terms of the courts, my perception is that courts do a good job in identifying the violation of legal aspects. For example, Deuteronomy 19:15 explains that a witness might come up against a man on an iniquity, which has been done. However, the evidence will need to be confirmed before the courts (Pollock, 2014). This shows that the evidence in court matters. For instance, during the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Pontius Pilate who was the governor examined the evidence presented to him and determined that Jesus Christ was not guilty. However, he gave in to the will of people.
The correctional system describes the network of various agencies that offer prison and community-based programs such as probation boards and parole. My perception is that the correctional system is effective in implementing corrective behavior in the society in the criminal justice system. An example is Hebrews 13:3 that proves that people should always remember the people in prison who are often mistreated. People in prisons are mistreated, but it helps to inspire corrective actions. Another example is Act 12: 5 which describes how Peter was locked in the prison, but the church was able to pray for him.
2.
My perception about the sub-systems of criminal justice has not changed over the time. I still believe that law enforcement, the courts, and the correctional system are important in promoting religious beliefs and morality in the society. For example, I believe that the courts are good and effective for adjudication of legal matters and issues (Brayne, 2014). Even from a biblical standpoint, I think that the courts continue to push for effective criminal justice interventions and systems.
3.
I believe that my perceptions are fully based on truth. An example is how the courts are effective and useful in promoting justice and reducing illegalities in the society. The courts help to improve morals and justice effectively. For instance, the truths associated with law enforcement (Schmalleger, et al., 2014). Law enforcement officials are helpful in promoting criminal justice. It is critical for our perceptions and beliefs to be based on actual truth since it helps to promote success in the criminal justice system.
